Cookie policy

Last updated:

Argus sets a small number of cookies. This page lists every one of them, what it does, and how to opt out of the optional ones.

Essential

Required for the dashboard to function. Always set; you can't turn them off without breaking login.

NamePurposeLifetime
argus_refreshRefresh-token cookie that keeps you logged in across sessions. HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax.30 days
argus_accessShort-lived access token paired with the refresh cookie. HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax.15 minutes
argus_cookie_consentRecords your cookie consent choice so we can honour it across sessions.1 year
argus_current_org_slugRemembers which organisation you last switched to. Stored as localStorage, not a cookie — included here for transparency.Until you clear browser storage

Analytics

Off by default. Enable from Manage preferences above.

We currently ship no analytics scripts. The opt-in exists so that when we add anonymised page-view counters (planned), the consent gate is already wired up. As soon as we add a vendor it will be listed at /legal/sub-processors.

Marketing

Off by default. Enable from Manage preferences above.

We currently ship no marketing pixels or trackers. Same deal as analytics: the opt-in is wired so any future vendor is gated by it.

Withdrawing consent

Click Manage cookie preferences at any time and uncheck the categories you don't want. The change takes effect immediately for any consent-gated scripts on the next page load. To remove the consent record entirely, clear the argus_cookie_consent cookie in your browser; the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Third-party cookies

Stripe Checkout, when used, sets cookies on Stripe's domain — these are out of our scope. The Argus dashboard does not load any third-party scripts on first paint.
